Mnemosyne

Mnemosyne

Mnemosyne

.
As days grow old and trodden
And the nights pass bleak and bare
The soil is safe, yet sodden
Impenetrable by air

Ever loyal to my keep
It’s however bittersweet
Lest I shed a tear or weep
Here, forever I should sleep

Tomorrow long forgotten
Fermented by old memories
The yesterday I’m caught in
Rests evermore breathlessly
Seasons cleanse the forgiven
While dreams fill — eternity

.

“The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins?”
— Edgar Allan Poe *
